The 2021/22 Premier League season is fully underway, with a highly entertaining Game Week 1 having taken place. The action starts with a Saturday lunchtime clash between Liverpool and Burnley, with Manchester City hoping to return to winning ways when clashing with Norwich. Arsenal meet Chelsea on Sunday and it could see Romelu Lukaku make his debut. We’re on hand to provide betting predictions for every game… SATURDAY 21ST AUGUST - Premier League Liverpool 12:30 Burnley Liverpool enjoyed a 3-0 victory at Carrow Road and we’re expecting a similar scoreline when they clash with a Burnley side who took the lead against Brighton but came off with a defeat. Mohamed Salah looks to be at his imperious best, with Sadio Mane now bidding to open his account and we can see this being one-sided. BEST BET: Liverpool win to nil Aston Villa 15:00 Newcastle United Aston Villa and Newcastle were both handed opening defeats, with the Villans truly off the pace in the first half at Watford. They looked defensively porous. Similarly, Newcastle conceded four times against West Ham and we can’t be confident about either side. However, both sides to score could be the bet to have. BEST BET: BTTS Yes Crystal Palace 15:00 Brentford It’s important not to get carried away by opening matches. Crystal Palace might have been handed a 3-0 defeat at Stamford Bridge, although they might find life a good deal easier against a Brentford side who beat Arsenal in their first game. Perhaps the Eagles will get the chance to impose themselves against the Bees. BEST BET: Crystal Palace to win Leeds United 15:00 Everton It’s hard to predict the outcome at Elland Road, although Leeds showed plenty of attacking intent at Old Trafford despite losing 5-1. Raphinha is looking dangerous and the same can be said of compatriot Richarlison who was instrumental in Everton’s 3-1 victory over Southampton. It’s easy enough to see both sides finding the net in this clash. BEST BET: BTTS Yes Manchester City 15:00 Norwich City Manchester City were defeated in their opening game to open the door to their title rivals. Pep Guardiola is now looking for an immediate response. Kevin de Bruyne should return to the starting line-up for a clash against a promoted Norwich side who have been handed a tricky opening set of fixtures and they could be behind come the half-time whistle. BEST BET: Man City HT/FT Brighton & Hove Albion 17:30 Watford Watford look an enormous price to win at the AMEX Stadium. The Hornets were full value for their 3-2 win over Aston Villa last weekend. They’ll look to exploit Brighton on the counter-attack, with Ismaila Sarr looking especially dangerous and it’s hard to see why a shot-shy Seagulls should be odds-on favourites to win this clash. BEST BET: Watford +1 SUNDAY 22ND AUGUST Southampton 14:00 Manchester United Manchester United are going to play their 2021-22 matches at full tilt this season based on their 5-1 win over Leeds. We’re excited to see their attacking approach at St Mary’s. Southampton took the lead at Goodison Park before conceding three times against Everton and they could come off worse here despite a consolation goal being likely. BEST BET: Manchester United + BTTS Wolverhampton Wanderers 14:00 Tottenham Hotspur Nuno Espirito Santo returns to Molineux for the first time since standing down as Wolverhampton Wanderers manage. However, Wolves also looked solid and were slightly unfortunate when losing 1-0 at Leicester, with Bruno Lage having his team well-organised. The Odds on bet for this game is the Under 2.5 goals option. You can learn more about what under 2.5 goals means, in our free betting tips resource. BEST BET: Under 2.5 Goals Arsenal 16:30 Chelsea Arsenal will hope that a passionate home crowd will spur them into action. Although the Gunners looked out of sorts when losing at Brentford and we can’t see any other result aside from an away win. Romelu Lukaku should make his debut although Chelsea could be superior in every department and N’Golo Kante should slot back into midfield. BEST BET: Chelsea to win MONDAY 23RD AUGUST West Ham United 20:00 Leicester City West Ham United came from behind to win at St James’ Park and they could edge out Leicester at the London Stadium. With the supporters looking to roar them to another victory. Said Benrahma and Michael Antonio could be a menace to a defence who looked shaky when achieving a slightly fortunate win over Wolves.
