The Premier League action shows no sign of stopping during the festive period. We have six further top-flight matches on Tuesday, with two more on Wednesday and a further two on Thursday. Leicester’s clash against Liverpool is anticipated to be high-scoring, although there might not be as many goals when Arsenal meet Wolves. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VXGOV2X4m2o TUESDAY 28TH DECEMBER Arsenal 12:30 Wolverhampton Wanderers Wolves’ recent defensive record has been outstanding. There seems little reason to doubt them for this trip to the Emirates. Jose Sa has been arguably the most impressive goalkeeper in the Premier League. Arsenal might need something special to break down their opponents. Any Gunners victory might be enjoyed by a slender margin and we’ll opt for a low-scoring clash. BEST BET: Under 2.5 Goals Crystal Palace 15:00 Norwich City It appears that there are COVID-19 cases within the Crystal Palace ranks and they might not be at full-strength for the visit of Norwich. Therefore, perhaps the draw is a safer play than the home win. The Eagles have not been home bankers this season and they could have problems breaking down a stubborn Canaries defence. BEST BET: Draw Southampton 15:00 Tottenham Hotspur It’s full steam ahead for Antonio Conte’s side who should really have beaten Liverpool before Christmas. Tottenham are looking strong from an attacking point-of-view, with Harry Kane and Son Heung-Min especially sharp. Southampton are a solid enough outfit although a lack of goals puts us off the Saints for this one, even if Armando Broja is in good form. BEST BET: Tottenham to win Watford 15:00 West Ham United Watford are a difficult team to predict and they are capable of scoring against any opponent. However, their defence has largely been porous. We would expect West Ham to find the net, with Jarrod Bowen proving to be a livewire for the Hammers. Michail Antonio might also return to the goal trail and we’ll opt for BTTS Yes. BEST BET: BTTS Yes Leeds United 17:30 Aston Villa Steven Gerrard won’t be in the dug-out for this clash at Elland Road and perhaps that might affect the visitors’ overall performance. While Aston Villa have improved under their new manager, they still have a modest squad. Leeds will start to get players back and will work hard to earn a positive result, with Marcelo Bielsa’s team now in a relegation scrap. BEST BET: Draw Leicester City 20:00 Liverpool Liverpool will want to cling to Manchester City’s coat tails in the Premier League title race. We expect them to win at the King Power, although they haven’t looked defensively sound recently. Even with Virgil van Dijk back, we would expect a lively Leicester team to cause some problems. James Maddison has been in sparkling form over the past few weeks and Jamie Vardy might be able to break the high line. BEST BET: Liverpool + BTTS Yes WEDNESDAY 29TH DECEMBER Chelsea 19:30 Brighton & Hove Albion Brighton are a team who are usually involved in low-scoring clashes and we’re expecting more of the same at Stamford Bridge. The Seagulls might be capable of nullifying a Chelsea side who have recently struggled to find the net. It could be a case of defences on top, with Thomas Tuchel wanting his side to return to the defensive stinginess of earlier in the campaign. BEST BET: Under 2.5 Goals Brentford 20:15 Manchester City This is the part of the season where Manchester City’s squad depth comes into play. Pep Guardiola had a strong bench at St James’ Park and rotation could help them kick clear of the chasing pack. Expect Phil Foden and Jack Grealish to potentially play starring roles here, with Brentford unable to breach a defence that has been expertly marshalled by Ruben Dias. BEST BET: Manchester City + BTTS No THURSDAY 30TH DECEMBER Everton 19:30 Newcastle United Rafael Benitez comes up against one of his former clubs. We’re expecting Newcastle to put on a spirited display and they could be about to turn the corner under Eddie Howe. Everton did recently manage to draw 1-1 at Chelsea, although they’re short of attacking quality on the pitch. Maybe the best ploy could be backing the visitors on the Draw No Bet market, with money back if the game ends all square. BEST BET: Newcastle Draw No Bet Manchester United 20:15 Burnley The Red Devils are steady rather than spectacular under Ralf Rangnick and we’re expecting a professional job against a low-scoring Burnley side. The modus operandi for Manchester United is to win games and challenge for a top four spot. The defence has been organised and we can get a bigger price about a home win when we combine it with a Clarets’ failure to find the net. BEST BET: Manchester United + BTTS Premier League Game Week 20 will hopefully be entertaining and packed with lots of clashes. While the COVID-19 pandemic might cause a few postponements, we can still place football bets and accumulators on the action. It will be interesting to see how the title race and the relegation battle continue to shape up.
