The Premier League action returns after the international break. Game Week 8 kicks off at Vicarage Road where we see Claudio Ranieri take charge of Watford for the first time. Meanwhile, Leicester’s clash against Manchester United promises to be intriguing. As usual, we have expert predictions available for every top-flight game, with Arsenal and Crystal Palace locking horns for the Monday night clash. SATURDAY 16TH OCTOBER Watford 12:30 Liverpool Watford’s new manager Claudio Ranieri wants his team to be attacking in a bid to remain in the Premier League, with the Italian counting himself as a title winner. However, it would be a minor miracle if they overcame a Liverpool side expected to welcome back Trent Alexander-Arnold, with Mohamed Salah in the form of his life. Expect the Reds to win and the Hornets to grab a consolation goal. BEST BET: Liverpool + BTTS Yes Aston Villa 15:00 Wolverhampton Wanderers Wolves have been rock solid defensively when they have taken to the road this season. They have only conceded one goal in their three road trips, while Aston Villa have been watertight at Villa Park. It points to a tight Midlands derby on Saturday, with Dean Smith’s side looking uncertain favourites. After all, Wanderers have taken six points from their first three away clashes. BEST BET: Under 2.5 Goals Leicester City 15:00 Manchester United Both teams have found the net in five of United’s seven EPL clashes this season. The Red Devils are attack-minded in every match, although they are conceding big chances. Leicester look off the pace compared to previous seasons. However, Jamie Vardy has scored six goals in seven games and could be partnered with Kelechi Iheanacho. While United might end up winning the fixture, we would rather back BTTS Yes here. BEST BET: BTTS Yes Manchester City 15:00 Burnley In the last eight meetings between these teams, Manchester City have won seven of them without conceding. Therefore, there’s a strong case for selecting a home win and BTTS No for this clash. Pep Guardiola has an impressive squad and Phil Foden was red hot at Anfield two weeks ago. Similarly, Bernardo Silva is outshining Jack Grealish right now, with Gabriel Jesus also looking accomplished in a wider position. BEST BET: Man City + BTTS No Norwich City 15:00 Brighton & Hove Albion We think Brighton are a pretty fair price at odds-against to win at Carrow Road. Norwich steadied the ship before the international break with a goalless draw at Burnley. However, the Canaries can’t be a confident selection after previously losing six matches. The Seagulls have wobbled in fixtures like this in previous seasons. However, Graham Potter’s side have seven points on the road and their class should tell here. BEST BET: Brighton to win Southampton 15:00 Leeds United All three of Southampton’s home matches have featured two or less goals and this clash promises to be no different. Ralph Hasenhuttl will be acutely aware of the need to win this encounter and that will mean running a tight ship. Similarly, Leeds went back to basics when overcoming Watford two weeks ago and they are likely to adopt a similar style in order to avoid defeat at all costs. BEST BET: Under 2.5 Goals Brentford 17:30 Chelsea This might be a good time for Brentford to be playing this fixture. The majority of the Chelsea squad were on international duty which could prove to be disruptive. The Bees previously served it up to Liverpool to draw 3-3 and then won 2-1 at West Ham. Thomas Frank’s side will relish this west London derby against a Chelsea side who did recently lose to Manchester City and Juventus. BEST BET: Brentford or Draw SUNDAY 17TH OCTOBER Everton 14:00 West Ham United Everton boast a 100% record at Goodison Park this season although Norwich, Southampton and Burnley are all bottom-half material. This could be a sterner test against a vibrant Hammers side who are averaging two goals per top-flight match. It could be an exciting game, with Townsend, Gray and Doucoure all looking in tip-top form, while Michail Antonio and Said Benrahma are the same for West Ham. BEST BET: BTTS Yes Newcastle United 16:30 Tottenham Hotspur Newcastle are winless after seven games although they now have new owners. This means we’re likely to see Steve Bruce replaced although the squad remains the same until January. The Magpies could be boosted enough to secure a point against Tottenham. The visitors beat Aston Villa before the international break and won’t be easily beaten. Nuno will want to make his team tough to break down and surely Harry Kane will start getting among the goals soon. BEST BET: Draw MONDAY 18TH OCTOBER Arsenal 20:00 Crystal Palace Patrick Vieira has done well at Selhurst Park thus far and he was delighted to see his Crystal Palace team rally from two goals down against Leicester. The Eagles won’t be easy to beat at the Emirates, with Arsenal looking to build on ten points from four matches. We’re expecting a tighter clash than the odds suggest and would much rather take a punt on the draw. The Gunners aren’t quite banker material. BEST BET: Draw It’s great to see the Premier League returning. The experts at WhatAcca.com have gone through the betting coupon and emerged with some value. We look at the stats for every game and try to avoid lazy betting picks. Bear in mind that some of the favourites will be priced artificially short.
